Cycle Savvy a Southampton City Council initiative recently brought their Pit Stop to White Building, Southampton.  A scheme set up to help employees choose the right bike, ensure it is safe to ride, feel confident cycling on the road and discover new routes.

The Pit Stop services include a ‘Bike Doctor’ who will service bikes and fix any issues for free (ex. parts); a variety of bikes to test ride; cycle training; YoBike information and offers as well as optional extras including NHS Health Checks, led rides and bike maintenance workshops.

The service was well used with a many tenants bringing their bikes down for repairs and having conversations about the e-bikes and Hybrid bikes on show. The White Building’s secure bike store, maintenance station and shower facilities with a drying room encourages occupiers cycle to work which meant there were a lot of keen cyclists at the event.

Not only did the sun shine for us that day, there was also some amazing food available courtesy of  ‘Mama’s Kitchen’ authentic Thai street food who were at the building that day serving our hungry tenants.
