Wellbeing@Work hosted by White Building

White Building supported a recent Wellbeing@Work event run by Southampton Connect, providing the venue for this recent workshop and seminar.

Southampton Connect alongside Southampton Council aims to promote and support wellness at work and company investment into their employee wellbeing for business in the region.

The event was well attended by numerous local companies featured guest speaker Scott Giles from Saints FC. Advice about workplace wellbeing activities were provided along with round-table discussions on aspects of supporting health and wellbeing of staff and an opportunity to create a downloadable health and wellbeing noticeboard for their office

Andrew Oliver, Ashville Asset Management

It was a pleasure to host this event at White Building and great to see so many companies actively addressing employee wellbeing.  The environment and office people work in is an important part of employee wellbeing, but by no means the only consideration.  The great thing about these workshops are they offer companies a free service providing clear and practical solutions to improving employee well-being as well as opening up constructive dialogue on this subject.

Lynn Murphy, Wellbeing@Work

The White Building made an excellent venue for this first Wellbeing@Work business networking event attracted nearly 60 local businesses and organisations all keen to support the health & wellbeing of their staff – because it’s ‘a good thing’ and because it’s good for business performance.  Common themes emerged from all the discussions and the 3 areas of organisational culture, leadership and relationships and promoting physical and mental health will form the basis of an Employer Commitment to Wellbeing at Work that is currently being developed.

Wellbeing@Work is the name of the service offered by the council to Southampton-based businesses to help them improve the health and wellbeing of their staff and also of their business.  Further information can be found on the following link:  Wellbeing@Work
